Earlier in August, Gallery GM and the Güsten-Marr & Marshall Academy of Creative Arts in collaboration with the Liberian Embassy UK and The Union of Liberian Organisations UK presented Visit Liberia Day 2017. After a successful collaborative event last year, Gallery GM proudly hosted the Visit Liberia Day Festivities at Dykelands Farm, the Gallery GM headquarters located in the beautiful English countryside. For Sarah Güsten-Marr, founder of Gallery GM, It was a true honour to receive the support of the Liberian Ambassador to the Court of St. James, London the Honourable Dr. Mohammed Sheriff with this very important event.
Over the course of the day, guests were welcome to enjoy Gallery GM’s new outdoor stage and refreshment area, where performances were held showcasing the culture of West Africa. Also on show, was an exhibition of painted works by Sarah Güsten-Marr, accompanied by stunning jewellery and cultural artefacts from Africa.
The outdoor bars were ready and the Turborgee and palm butter was waiting for everyone who came out from far and wide to celebrate culture in North Yorkshire, England.
